About Us
Owner
My name is Brittany Spencer, and I started Home Plate Accounting to provide bookkeeping and consulting services that benefit my community at the individual and small business level. I have been inspired by entrepreneurship my entire life and have been working since 2010 to build a foundation of skills, core values, and resources that allow me to share my knowledge and efficiency with others.
My grandfather Al Beavers has been a tax preparer since 1974, and I have been fortunate enough to work alongside him for the last 10 years while completing my accounting degree, working full-time in the property management industry, and starting my family.
I am not your typical accountant. You won't find me in a suit or on the golf course discussing stocks and interest rates devoid of personality. Instead, you will see me in my jeans coaching my kids’ sports, engaging in community events, or serving Phyllis Burgers at Beavers Field to spend quality time with my family. I have a hard-working blue-collar husband, a feisty 10-year-old girl, and an ornery 7-year-old boy who keep me on my toes.
I believe my strengths lie in my ability to explain financial organization, taxes, and small business bookkeeping to the average person. I want to be a resource for anyone with financial questions, ensuring they feel comfortable asking. If I don’t know something, I will diligently research to provide all available options in every situation.
